Yes, yes, I know. I’m late in blogging this. Very late. But alas, as they say “better late than never”.
We’d like to present our newest family addition: Atlas.
We know, we know. Many of you have hoped that our next family addition we be of the human kind. And we hate to disappoint, but we went with another fur-baby instead. Many of you know that we take our Ruby to dog obedience classes on a regular basis. We’ve been working with Morris Lindesey at iCare K-9 since the begninning of the year. We followed him from our last training group when he started his own business. He (and his better-half Annemarie) are great trainers and have become great friends as well. In addition to training dogs for general obedience, Morris also trains dogs in protection sports. Think: schutzhund, PSA, etc. His dutch shepherd Phoenix (check out some of videos of her here) gave birth to a litter this year at the end of July. And Michael and I scooped up one of her pups.
We’ve been very happy to have him. Ruby even more so since she has a play mate. She LOVES it. Potty training wasn’t too terrible and went pretty quickly. After several months and a trip home to “grandmas” for Christmas, Atlas has been settling in well. He’s packing on the pounds (38 pounds on his last visit before Christmas) and learning some commands. Michael and I are intending to train him for protection sports and his introduction so far has gone well. He loves it. We’re happy to have our fur-family complete. And we suspect he likes us as well.
